No Man's Land 5

Despite the wind and rain work is proceeding and the build is increasingly beginning to resemble an episode of Grand Designs, I keep expecting Kevin McCloud to turn up with a hard hat for a tour and an inspection of the structure. Today most of the outer skin of marine plywood was attached and tomorrow it gets a final coat of sand mixed with a resin to keep it in place.

I'm gathering together an exhaustive list of equipment and provisions to bring with me for my island exile. A solar charger for an i-phone, a wind up torch, playing cards, wet gear, a thermal vest, a fire extinguisher and a camp stove are just a small example of the mountain of clutter that has taken over my work space. I've been ordering books from the very helpful staff at the Gutter Book Shop in Temple Bar, they mostly have an island theme running through them and I'm most excited about reading (or at least attempting) Ulysses which I've never had the time for in the past but a desert island in the Liffey has got to be the ultimate location to embark on a Joycean journey right?

You do know there's a Hurricane on it's way yeah ? I suppose you can't be too picky when choosing the week to do it but, bad luck I guess. Hope you hold out ok in the the storm.
