Liffeytown 16

Launch Party
It's going to be a busy few days. Tomorrow, Friday, Oddie the truck driver comes at 4pm to help transport the houses to Ringsend yacht club. They're incredibly heavy so four of us will be lifting the houses on and off. On Saturday we're fitting the lights and batteries and on Sunday we finally install the time switches and hook them up to the LEDs and batteries. About 2pm Sunday we're hoping to start towing the houses by boat from Ringsend the whole way down the Liffey to the Ha'penny Bridge. The tide turns at 5pm so we have a short window to get the houses moored in place.

On Monday, September 13 we're having a launch party for "Liffeytown' from 6pm to 8pm on the boardwalk near the Ha'penny Bridge. Please come if you are in the area. Roise Goan, the director of the Fringe Festival will make a speech at exactly 610pm (she's off to another show at 630pm). Murphy's Icecream will be serving strawberry and mint cones (get it!) from their brilliant delivery bike. If you hang about you should hopefully see the houses light up in unison at 8pm. If the weather is against us we will decamp to the Winding Stair bookshop across the road.
